Paula Jones-Wright offers a unique background which combines healthcare, clinical research, and education. Her qualifications combine to create a unique offering in clinical research training and curriculum development. Having a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters degree in Adult Education combined with her clinical research qualifications, certifications and basic experience at the site, Paula is well equipped to deliver a high level of expertise in clinical research content matter. She incorporates practical examples of clinical learning application into what she calls ‘research reality”.
Paula’s experience as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) has allowed her to develop a specialized knowledge base in the area of clinical research. In North America and on a global scale Paula’s collective credentials are difficult to find in any other clinical research trainer.
Over the past ten years Paula has trained over 3000 research team members across Canada including Clinical Research Coordinators, Project Managers, Clinical Research Associates, Investigators, and Clinical Directors at university-based and company-specific levels. She has developed exciting courses designed to help researchers in their everyday practice. Paula has a Bachelor of Education along with a Masters in Education specializing in adult learning. As an educator, Paula has also taught high school science and university nursing. Her nursing career has included medical-surgical, intensive care, oncology, palliative care, obstetrics and family health nursing.
Paula is a trainer, curriculum developer and a consultant in education. She also completes audits for Sponsors, Site Management Organizations, and Contract Research Organizations for Good Clinical Practice compliance. She has been a clinical trial auditor conducting GCP inspection audits at University affiliated teaching hospitals throughout Canada and the USA. Her expertise as an auditor has included an inspection at Yale University.
Paula has also been an Research Ethics Board (REB) member and is an advocate of REB training and accreditation.
Paula has been active in the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) as a trainer, Board member for North America and as a Canadian executive member for the past seven years. As an international speaker she has also presented for the Drug Information Association (DIA) at international conferences.
She promotes all groups which provide accreditation for clinical research professionals because she believes in certification as a standard in clinical research excellence.
